By now you have probably all seen the BaselWorld 2014 reports. It seems old designs in new jackets is still the way to go.. And rightfully so – the watches of days gone by are often so wonderful and honest in design!
While the First Omega in Space and the new CK2913-inspired Seamaster 300M are causing quite the buzz -and that is not even mentioning the Mark II Speedmaster-, we must certainly not overlook the PloProf 1200M!
Both the First Omega in Space as well as the Seamaster 300M are rather faithful to their ancestors in terms of design – especially the Speedmaster. The vibe that the PloProf 1200M is emitting however is that it’s more of like modern update to a classic design. A high-tech version of the vintage icon. And it worked. By no means is the contemporary PloProf more subtle than its older sibling, but it does appear more refined and slick. Well done Omega!
